How to inspect each wheel assembly on your vehicle



 

 




1. Lift the vehicle.

2. With the wheel still on the vehicle, grab it with one hand at the 12:00 position and the other hand at the 6:00 position.

3. Shake the steering wheel hard to see if there is any gap.

4. If you find any gaps:



â—†Remove the tires and wheels.



â—†Remove one sliding pin and tilt the caliper. This prevents the bearing pads from dragging on the rotor. You can remove the calipers if that's easier.



â—†Rotate the hub by hand. Look for any unusual resistance or vibration. If you're not sure what you're looking for, try doing this with all the hubs on the vehicle. Look for any differences between hubs.
