Polyvinylpyrrolidone K30, also known as polyvidone, is a water-soluble polymer with a weight average molecular weight (Mw) between 44000 and 54000 g/mol. Its CAS number is 9003-39-8. PVP K30, also known as polyvidone, povidone(e), povidonum, and poly(1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone), was developed in the 1930s at BASF.
